Division A week 27 and Division B week 24 summary and highlights

Relyon suffer heavy defeat to allow Cottage Pies regain Division A leadership, King Pins title challenge suffers another blow after 1 pin defeat

Division A  

It’s a yoyo league at the top as previous leaders Relyon were convincingly beaten by Holywell Lake for whom Lee Newberry hit 82, he started with a double flopper 22 followed by 18, 9, 9, 9, 15. Cottage Pies grabbed their chance to go back to the top by beating Shooters by 34. Reservists have joined Relyon in joint second just a point behind the leaders. Reservists beat bottom team Oaks by 65 the biggest win of the night. Angels moved up to fourth after beating Hot Shots by 4 the smallest winning margin, Muscotts slip to fifth after losing by 9 to the Queens Legs. Wardens beat Fireguard A by 50 and move up to sixth, Home Guard 2 beat Club Rockers by 57 to move up one place to eighth. Another over 50 win was by Bell Green who beat Report Centre A by 51, Rebels saw off O.B.A. beating them by 12 pins.

This Friday leaders Cottage Pies are “away” to stable mates Muscotts (fifth) they may share the same alley but they use different sets of balls. Joint second teams meet at the Conservative Club when Relyon entertain Reservists.

Division B

Mowers who had a bye remain 8 points clear and eyeing their twentieth successive Division B title as the closest chasing team King Pins lost. There were two matches that had a 1 pin win, one was previous second placed King Pins who lost to Ex-Servicemen and slip to third. The other 1 pin win was by Odds and Ends over the Rugby Boys, a 2 pin win was achieved by bottom team Home Guard 4 who although doubling their points tally are still the divisions “strongest team” still 10 points adrift. Scuppas have moved up to second following their 18 pin win over Foresters, the biggest win of the night was 34 achieved by United Services over Moonrakers. All Stars in fourth beat Railwayites by 22 and Outsiders refreshed from their bye week beat Stragglers by 21.

Tomorrow leaders Mowers are at home to Stragglers and second placed Scuppas are at home to All Stars (fourth) King Pins (third) are away to Soccerites.
